🌎In May 2026, the Ukrainian representative Olena Fedko – President and Co-founder of the NGO Ukrainian Institute of Career Guidance and Career Counselling, career counsellor and coach, career guidance expert, and trainer of career professionals – took part in the international study visit Euroguidance Academia 2026, held in Bucharest and Brașov (Romania) within the framework of the NC4UA project.
✏️The study visit, entitled - “Creativity in theories and practices of career guidance and counselling – From frameworks to flourishing - the Romanian Experience" - provided an excellent opportunity for professional exchange, learning about modern European approaches, and exploring effective solutions for the development of career guidance and counselling in Ukraine.
📚The main aim of participating in the mobility programme was to explore the role of creativity, cross-sectoral cooperation, and the Whole School Approach in supporting learners' educational, professional, and personal development. The programme also provided an opportunity to learn about the organisation of the Romanian career guidance and counselling system, as well as the work of school counsellors, educational institutions, NGOs, and public authorities.
🤝The programme included international professional mobility, presentations of national career guidance systems, thematic lectures and workshops, exchange of practices between participating countries, professional discussions, job-shadowing visits to schools, NGOs and public institutions, as well as intercultural exchange and networking.
🌐Particular attention was given to the development of career competences, psychological well-being, social inclusion, and a sense of belonging in educational settings. Participants explored innovative approaches to developing career management skills, supporting students' resilience and career adaptability, and strengthening cooperation between schools, employers, local communities, and other stakeholders.
👥An important part of the programme was the exchange of experience among representatives from nine European countries, who presented their national career guidance systems, approaches to organising career counselling services, and practices supporting educational and career transitions.
An important outcome of the study visit was the opportunity to present Ukraine's experience in developing career guidance and counselling to the international professional community. The examples from the NGO sector, educational projects, and private career counselling practice attracted considerable interest from participants and encouraged professional discussions on the role of civic initiatives in supporting people's career development.
📌Following the study visit, a practical material was prepared, bringing together the European approaches and practices in career guidance and counselling presented during Euroguidance Academia 2026 in Romania.
The material covers the integration of creative approaches into career counselling, the development of career management skills, the implementation of the Whole School Approach, cross-sectoral cooperation, support for young people's psychological well-being and professional identity, as well as the development of accessible and modern career support services.
💡Окрему увагу приділено практичним інструментам, кейсам і підходам, які можуть бути адаптовані до українського контексту та використані у розробці освітніх програм, методичних матеріалів, тренінгів і просвітницьких заходів для розвитку системи кар’єрного консультування в Україні.
