Referencing an NQF to the EQF is not simply about comparing qualification levels. It is a comprehensive process that demonstrates that a country's qualifications system is aligned with the European principles of transparency and quality.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

To do this, a country must demonstrate compliance with the 10 EQF referencing criteria set out in the Council Recommendation of 22 May 2017 on the European Qualifications Framework for lifelong learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Clearly define the roles and responsibilities of all bodies involved in the referencing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Demonstrate how the levels of the NQF correspond to the levels of the EQF.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Ensure that qualifications are based on learning outcomes and linked to arrangements for the validation of non-formal and informal learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Ensure transparent procedures for including qualifications in the National Qualifications System.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Ensure that quality assurance arrangements are consistent with European principles.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Obtain confirmation from the national quality assurance bodies that the referencing report is valid and reliable.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Involve independent international experts in the evaluation of the referencing process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Prepare and formally adopt a comprehensive referencing report.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"Publish the report and make it available through European information resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\"\ud83d\udd39\"After the referencing process is completed, ensure that EQF levels are indicated on qualification documents and in the relevant qualifications registers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
